  • Visit a private museum house in Manga. The high society family of famous sculptor Eladio Gil Zambrano is looking forward to showing you their house full of paintings and sculptures.

Day 1. Sun:         USA / Bogota.

This morning make your way to the airport for your  flight to Bogota, the capital of Colombia.

On arrival, you will be met and transferred by private SUV vehicle to the city center and your hotel.

Bogotá is Colombia’s sprawling, high-altitude capital. La Candelaria, its cobblestoned center, features colonial-era landmarks like the neoclassical performance hall Teatro Colón and the 17th-century Iglesia de San Francisco. It’s also home to popular museums including the Museo Botero, showcasing Fernando Botero’s art, and the Museo del Oro, displaying pre-Columbian gold pieces.

You will be welcomed on arrival by your guide with a brief description of Colombia’s Andean capital on your way to the hotel.  Check in and have some lunch at your hotel.

Lunch Break – Recommended: Biblioteca Restaurant (Casual) in your hotel.

2:00pm – 6:00pm – Private touring Bogota, the Andean Capital.

In the afternoon, your guide and private driver are waiting for you at the lobby to set out for a fascinating visit around the capital city. You will get an insight of the art scene in Bogotá and discover the most remarkable sights in the city. Start your tour with visiting some the most outstanding galleries for contemporary art. You will be accompanied by a local artists that will explain you more about the collections and you will have the opportunity to visit the artist’s private collections.

Dinner – suggestion: Finish the day with having diner in one of the most famous restaurants of Bogotá – Harry Sasson’s Restaurant.

Overnight: The Four Seasons Bogota.

 

Day 2. Mon:       Bogota.                (Private touring 10:30am – 5:30pm)

This morning enjoy breakfast and meet your guide in the lobby at 10:30am.

 After breakfast, you will experience Colombia´s capital on a guided walking tour of the colonial Centre. Drive over to this area and then begin a refreshing walking tour.

Get to know the city’s rich and colorful history strolling through the narrow colonial streets of the colonial neighborhood La Candelaria. The tour continues with a visit of the Gold Museum where you can get an insight of the variety of pre-Hispanic cultures and the famous El Dorado legend.

Lunch break 1:00pm – 2:30pm. Suggested Lunch at Prudencia or Don Ostia Restaurant.

La Candelaria is Bogota’s vibrant heart, with landmarks like the colonial-era cathedral and neoclassical Capitol flanking Bolivar Plaza. Narrow streets lined with shops selling emeralds and handicrafts lead to cultural hotspots like the Gold Museum, with pre-Columbian artifacts, and Museo Botero, showing international art in a colonial mansion.

This afternoon we will continue the tour of Bogota. Some of the memorable stops will be to get to know the art of the most famous Colombian artists “Botero” in the collection of the Republic Bank.

Fernando Botero, self-dubbed ‘the most Colombian of Colombian artists’, is a name synonymous with Latin American art. The prolific artist and his signature style, known as Boterismo, evoke images of voluptuous, voluminous people and objects, and his success as an artist is incontestable. However, Botero’s work can also be controversial, incurring charges of triviality. We explore what makes this ‘most Colombian’ of artists tick.

Late afternoon we will proceed over to the boarding point for a ride in a cable car to the famous Monserrate hill. The Monserrate hill is one of the cultural and historic landmarks of Bogota. From 3170 m altitude, you can enjoy the spectacular view over this enormous city with a glass of wine.

Monserrate is a mountain that dominates the city center of Bogotá, the capital city of Colombia. It rises to 3,152 metres above the sea level, where there is a church with a shrine, devoted to El Señor Caído. Get some special photo memento of the city below before we return to the Four Seasons Hotel with the evening at leisure.

Day 3. Tue:         Bogota / Cartagena.       

This morning have breakfast and meet your driver in the lobby where your bellmen will deliver your bags and we load up and transfer to the airport to board your flight to Cartagena, on the Caribbean coast of Colombia.

By the sea is the walled Old Town, founded in the 16th century, with squares, cobblestone streets and colorful colonial buildings. With a tropical climate, the city is also a popular beach destination. Reachable by boat are Isla de Barú, with white-sand beaches and palm trees, and the Islas del Rosario, known for their coral reefs.

On arrival transfer to the city center and check in to your hotel located inside the Old Walled Town of Cartagena. We estimate you will check in by 12 noon and we have a suggested place for lunch.

Lunch Break – 12:30pm – 2:00pm. – Walk just one block from your hotel on your own to the Vera Restaurant where you can enjoy a typical seaside lunch.

2:00pm – 6:00pm – Afternoon tour of Old Cartagena.

After lunch, your guide will take you through the city, showing you some of the most important sights. Short distances will be done by foot and some transfers by private vehicle. Return to the hotel by 5:30pm – 6:00pm to freshen up for this evening.

Dinner & Horse Drawn Carriage evening – 7:30pm – Your private horse carriage and guide is waiting out front of your hotel.

This evening enjoy a romantic carriage ride through the historical city center of (Old) Cartagena de Indias. The carriage is already waiting for us at the front of the Hotel and will bring us to our restaurant for diner, passing by important squares, churches and streets with colorful houses and balconies that are decorated typically with Bougainville flowers.

8:00pm – reservations to enjoy a delicious diner at the Don Juan Restaurant on your own account. After diner you will be transferred back to your Hotel in the carriage.

After dinner, your carriage is waiting to bring you back to your hotel.

Overnight: Hotel Casa San Augustin– Cartagena.

 

 Day 4. Wed:       Cartagena. (Full day touring Cartagena 10:00am – 5:30pm)

                                                       (Including a private art family visit)

This morning enjoy breakfast and please meet in the lobby at 10:00am for your continuing tour of Cartagena.

With an art expert, we will visit the modern Museum of Arts of Cartagena, as well as different art galleries, where you will have the possibility to view some amazing artwork.

Moreover, we can visit a private museum house in Manga (about 15 minutes from the center). The high society family of famous sculptor Eladio Gil Zambrano is looking forward to showing you their house full of paintings and sculptures. Eladio Gil Zambrano was the sculptor of the famous statue India de Catalina. He also designed the front decoration of the national sailboat Gloria of the Colombian navy. His daughter Raquel and his wife Fini are glad to show you their extraordinary house and tell you about their lives.

12:30pm – 2:00pm – Lunch break – Return to the city center and have lunch in the recommended Juan del Mar Restaurant.

2:00pm – 5:30pm – After lunch, your guide will take you through the city center and visit the most important landmarks, such as the official entrance to the walled city with the Clock Tower (Torre del Reloj).

Behind it, we will find the Monument of Don Pedro de Heredia, the founder of Cartagena de Indias (1533). The guide will tell us about the story of Cartagena’s founding and will share interesting stories full of legends and pirates. Short distances will be done by foot and some transfers by vehicle.

Return to the hotel to freshen up with an evening suggested dining restaurant.

7:30pm – Evening suggested dinner reservations: Enjoy a delicious diner at the Carmen Restaurant. Transfers included. After diner you will be transferred back to your Hotel by private vehicle.

Day 5.Thu:         Cartagena.          (Full day at Leisure)

                                 Cartagena.          (Optional private yacht Islands of Rosario)

                                 Cartagena.          (Optional private drive & vehicle for shopping)

Today is set aside for a day at leisure to walk around the old town or relax at your hotel, do as you please. If you wish, we have to options for you to consider.

MORNING OPTION: Private Yacht tour of Rosario Islands.

Go and explore the Archipelago Nuestra Señora del Rosario, known as the Islands of Rosario, consists of 28 small islands, which are located about 40 km southwest of Cartagena de Indias in the Caribbean Sea. The journey takes about one hour on a comfortable yate to  a selected location with gorgeous sandy beaches and turquoise water. At the beach, sunbeds wait for you and if you prefer a little bit more action, you can take one of the kayaks to explore the surroundings. You will snorkel equipment available, as well as some drinks and snacks on the boat. Enjoy lunch at the resort before you head back to Cartagena.

Private transfer to the pier and board a private yacht to tour the Roasario Islands. (If you wish, snorkel equipment will also be on board) Drinks and snacks provided – 9:00am to 1:00pm)

Afternoon Option: Shopping Tour through Cartagena.  2:00pm – 5:00pm

Your female guide knows where all the bargains are and different tastes and styles for ladies wear available at Boutique shops throughout the city.

Spend the afternoon strolling through the nice boutiques and shops of Cartagena with their unique designers and beautiful dresses. You will car and guide for your free disposal.

Your guide and vehicle with driver are at your disposal for the afternoon.

Day 6. Fri.:            Cartagena / USA.            

This morning after breakfast you will be met and transferred to the airport in Cartagena for your flight check in and return nonstop flight to USA.
