Day 1 Frankfurt – Kamp-Bornhofen – Liebenstein Castle
The tour begins in Frankfurt and follows the Rhine to Rüdesheim. Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Rüdesheim’s old historic center and stroll along the famous Drosselgasse Street. Next we embark on a cruise and sail along the most picturesque stretch of the Rhine River, the Lorelei Valley (approx. 1.5 hrs; from November to March the boat tour is not guaranteed). Disembark at Kamp-Bornhofen and ascend to Liebenstein Castle, which towers high above the village and offers a beautiful view of the Rhine. Accommodation in this 13th-century castle. The rooms have been beautifully restored in medieval style.

Day 2 Kamp-Bornhofen – Koblenz – Ehrenburg Castle
After breakfast, travel to the ancient Roman city of Koblenz, one of the oldest cities in Germany. Then continue to the “Deutsches Eck” (the German Corner), where the Moselle meets the Rhine. Cross the river in a panoramic cable car for a spectacular view. On the other side of the river, we visit the Ehrenbreitstein fort, the second largest fort in Europe. Then continue along the Moselle River and the Ehrbachtal Valley. Ascend to Ehrenburg Castle, where you spend the night.

Day 3 Ehrenburg Castle – Moselle river valley – Trier
In the morning we tour several villages nestled in the Moselle river valley. This region is famous for its vineyards. In Cochem we visit the famous Burg Eltz castle. Then enjoy a wine tasting in the small town of Traben-Trarbach. The next section of the tour will be by boat as you cruise along the Moselle to Bernkastel-Kues, a beautiful and romantic town on the river banks. Today’s final destination is the town of Trier, an old Roman settlement with more than 2000 years of history.

Day 4 Trier – Heidelberg
In the morning there is time to explore the lovely historic buildings of Trier. Then continue to one of the most popular destinations in all of Germany: Heidelberg. Along the way we pass through the city of Speyer and visit its magnificent cathedral, a UNESCO Cultural Heritage monument. Today’s final destination is Heidelberg where we visit the famous castle and stroll through the historical center. Heidelberg is Germany’s oldest university town.

Day 5 Heidelberg – Frankfurt
Return to Frankfurt. Along the way, we travel through the city of Worms, also known as the city of Nibelungen. The Worms cathedral is one of the most stunning Romanesque churches in Germany, rivaling the beauty of the cathedrals of Speyer and Mainz. After a city tour, the program ends in Frankfurt. (B)
