Day 05: Kathmandu / Nagarkot. (Private drive – 2 hours) 

Day 06: Kathmandu / Kodari / Zhangmu. (Private drive)

Day 07: Zhangmu / Saga.

Day 08: Saga / Parayang.

Day 09: Parayang / Lake Manasarovar. (Private drive)

Day 10: Lake Manasarovar. (Full day trekking exploring the area)

Day 11: Lake Manasarovar. (Full day trekking and exploring the area)

Day 12: Lake Manasarovar. (Half day exploring & Afternoon drive to Darchen)

Day 13: Darchen (Full moon and Festival)

Day 14: (The Kora Trek begins)

Day 15: Kora Trek.

Day 16: Re-arrive Darchen. (Today trek back to Darchen.)

Day 17: Darchen / Paryang. (Private drive)

Day 18: Paryang / Saga. (Private drive back to Saga)

Day 19: Saga / Nyalam / Zhangmu. (Transfer to Chinese / Nepal border – 9 Hours)

Day 20: Zhangmu – Kodari. (Transfer to Nepal border – Nepal Visa on arrival) – Kodari / Kathmandu.

Day 21: Kathmandu / USA.

Sun Day 01:   USA / Kathmandu. (Flight to be advised)

Today make your way to the airport for your flight to Kathmandu.

Overnight: En Route.

 

Mon Day 02: En Route.

Today the flight crosses the Pacific and continues.

Overnight: En Route.

 

Tue Day 03: Arrival Kathmandu.

This afternoon arrive at Kathmandu, where you will be clear immigration. (Visa on arrival)

Clear customs and proceed to the exit where you will be met and transferred to the hotel.

Overnight: The Hyatt Regency.

 

Wed Day 04: Kathmandu.  (Day for shopping & Visa for Tibet)

Today your guide is at your disposal and to check all equipment for the upcoming trek.

You will also visit the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu for your visa to be issued same day.

Thu Day 05:   Kathmandu / Nagarkot. (Private drive – 2 hours)

This morning set off with your guide and driver to Nagarkot. On arrival, proceed to the guest house where you will take a break and enjoy Mt. Everest view from the balcony where you can sip tea and have some lunch. Return to the hotel late this afternoon.

Fri Day 06:  Kathmandu / Kodari / Zhangmu. (Private drive)

This morning after breakfast, you will load up and drive to Kodari (Chinese border) 114 kms (two hours) Upon arrival our tour escort will help you to go through immigration formalities in Nepali part and after immigration formalities 03-04 minute walk to the other side of the border  (Tibetan part of China) where we will clear immigration (Chinese visa permit obtained in Nepal)  with 4WD Jeeps and supporting trucks takes you to Zhangmu (Tibetan town 09 km uphill drive form border.). At  Zhangmu you again have to go through Chinese immigration formalities and after the formalities drive to Zhangmu.

Sat Day 07: Zhangmu / Saga.

After Breakfast, Drive to Saga ( 4050m ) from Zhangmu 344 kms via Lake Paigu Tso and Brahmaputra river.

Sun Day 08: Saga / Parayang.

After early morning breakfast drive to Parayang via New Zongba ( 4360m ), Which is 06-07 hrs drive.Overnight: Tea Hotel. (BLD)

 

  

Mon Day 09: Parayang / Lake Manasarovar.  (Private drive)

After Breakfast drive to Lake Manasarovar (5410m ) via Mayuma La ( 5151m )

Driving past Kongyu Tso through the village of Thongchen to camp near the Chiu monastery. The Lake Manasarovar, Hindus believe, was created by Brahma as reflection of the depth of his

soul-manas and represents the female energy of Yoni of the Universe, while Mt. Kailash symbolizes the male energy of the Lingum. At 14459 ft. Lake Manasarovar is the highest body of fresh water in the world. Holy to Buddhists alike, it was once surrounded by 8 monasteries. Buddhist believes in Queen Maya, Buddha’s mother was carried here by the gods and some of Mahatma Gandhi’s ash was carried here from India and scattered in the Lake.

Tue Day 10:   Lake Manasarovar. (Full day trekking exploring the area)

Wed Day 11:  Lake Manasarovar. (Full day trekking and exploring the area)

Overnight: Tea Hotel. (BLD)

Thu Day 12: Lake Manasarovar.         Half day exploring & Afternoon drive to Darchen)

After Breakfast  explore Lake Manasarovar in the morning and drive to Darchen which is 1 hour drive and, 4,560 m in elevation.

Fri Day 13:  Darchen (Full moon and Festival)

Saga deva festival can be observed today.

Overnight: Tea Hotel. (BLD)

 

Sat Day 14:    (The Kora Trek begins)

After early morning breakfast trek starts (The Kora begins) and after 5 – 6 hours trek to Dirapuk, 4,890 m in elevation.

Sun Day 15:   Kora Trek.

After Breakfast, Parikrama continues to Zutulpuk which will takes approximately 08 hours, 4,790m in elevation.

Overnight: Tea Hotel. (BLD)

 

Mon Day 16: Re-arrive Darchen. (Today trek back to Darchen.)

After Breakfast, Trek back to Darchen ( The Kora Ends )

Overnight: Tea Hotel. (BLD)

 

Tue Day 17:  Darchen / Paryang. (Private drive)

After Breakfast, Drive back to Paryang.

Overnight: Tea Hotel. (BLD)

  

Wed Day 18: Paryang / Saga. (Private drive back to Saga)

After Breakfast, Drive back to Saga.

Overnight: Guest Hotel. (BLD)

 

Thu Day 19:   Saga / Nyalam / Zhangmu. (Transfer to Chinese / Nepal border – 9 Hours)

Drive from Saga to Nyalam (3900m), and then across the Chinese border (2000m) to Zhangmu with 400km, 9 hours’ drive, over night at guest house, lunch and dinner included

Overnight: guest house (no private bath). (B,LD)

 

Fri Day 20:     Zhangmu – Kodari. (Transfer to Nepal border – Nepal Visa on arrival)

                        Kodari / Kathmandu. Drive to Kodari (Nepalese border) with 7km drive, breakfast only included today.Cross border and drive to Kathmandu ending this evening.

Overnight: The Kathmandu Hyatt. (B)

 

Sat Day 21:    Kathmandu / USA.

This morning you will be met and transferred to the airport for your flight to Bangkok.

On arrival, connect to the flight home to the USA. (B)

 

 

Note: A visit to Lhasa Tibet, can be organized on the end of the program by departing on

Day 19 overland two nights by vehicle reaching Lhasa and then an extension can be designed for you. Or you may enter into Shanghai  or Beijing and then we work our way by train to Lhasa Tibet and then begin the trek before ending with the overland into Kathmandu Nepal. You can fly back from Lhasa to Kathmandu or depart from Lhasa to other cities in China such as Chengdu, Shanghai, Beijing or a connecting flight to Hong Kong. There are many possibilities.
