Day 3 (Thursday):
Full day private tour of Johannesburg and Soweto.
Meet your guide in the lobby and proceed on a full day tour of Soweto.
Highlights of your full day tour: Drive by Soccer City (or FNB Stadium), enter Soweto via the up-market area called Diepkloof Extension, visit Ekhukhanyeni Crèche: a shipping container transformed into a functional “edutainer”, Continue to the Baragwanath area and stop at the huge taxi rank for a quick look. Soak up the sights, sounds and “smells” of Africa at close quarters – informal open-air butcher shop, herbalists, barbers and market etc. Pass Baragwanath Hospital, the largest hospital in the southern hemisphere, Drive through the Kliptown Squatter camp on the ‘Old Potchefstroom’ road, where the twin towers will be found, the tour takes you past the beautiful mall, which was recently opened by Soweto’s first millionaire “Richard Maponya”, drive by the Kliptown Squatter Camp, Regina Mundi Church, This is one of the biggest Catholic churches in South Africa. Afterwards the trip continues to the Hector Pieterson Memorial.

Special historical visits to: The Mandela House and Visitors Center. As you end your visit to Nelson Mandela’s house, you will drive through Vilakazi Street, which is the only street and neighborhood in the world where two Nobel Prize winners lived: Nelson Mandela & Desmond Tutu.
Your final stop is at the world famous Apartheid Museum where you will pass through and see the exhibits and the amazing history that was only back around 50 years ago.

Day 4 (Friday):
Private morning transfer to Pretoria
10h00 – Depart from Rovos Rail Station in Pretoria.
13h00 – Lunch is served as the Drakensberg Mountains come into view. In the afternoon the train climbs to Majuba Hill (2146m/7040ft).
16h30 – Tea in the lounge and observation cars.
19h30 – Dinner is served en route to Elandslaagte

Day 5 (Saturday):
06h00 – Wake-up call for early morning game drive in the Nambiti Private Game Reserve.
11h00 – Brunch is served in the dining car/s.

Option 2 – Spionkop battlefields tour.

Day 7 (Monday):

You then visit the Durban Botanic Gardens.

Afternoon Tickets for the Robben Island ferry
Hop aboard the ferry at a specific time to travel to Robben Island, the site of Nelson Mandela’s imprisonment along with hundreds of others. The history tour is operated by former inmates of this prison with poignant lectures and sometimes humorous input.
